This is a genuine compact-sized switch for your washing machine door. 

When the door or lid is closed, a mechanism within the switch completes an electrical circuit. This allows power to flow to the motor and other components, enabling the washing cycle to begin. If the door is opened during operation, the circuit breaks, stopping the machine immediately.

If your machine doesn’t respond when you try to start it, even with the door closed, this could indicate a faulty door switch. Change it with this replacement part.
