This is a genuine Hisense cooker hood charcoal filter. It is used to help keep the air fresh and clear from odours that appear in the air when food is being cooked. The filter includes activated carbon which helps to capture food particles ,whilst also absorbing cooking smells. The filter should be replaced every 4 months but this is dependent on the frequency of cooking and the foods that are cooked. You should get a new filter when you notice signs such as lingering odours,the filter looks discoloured or is broken.
